Letter of Recommendation – the Eye-catching Method

Everyone can write a letter of recommendation. Writing letter of recommendation is not a difficult task at all. In fact I found much pleasure in writing one. However, it may easy seem, knowing what method and the information to go into a letter of recommendation is very important.

Before you agree to write a letter of recommendation, make sure you can objectively, sincerely and supportively write about that person. Objectivity and sincerity are very important because the cost of recommending a ‘lemon’ can be substantial.

Avoid excess praise. Be concise; give specific example, date and location where possible. Inform the person you are writing to about what differentiate the person you are recommending from the rest. This is not difficult because everyone has his core competence. Please note that a letter of recommendation should not exceed one page.

Letter of recommendation formant

“To whom it may concern” should start your letter of recommendation. This is because in most cases you don’t know who will read it. Even where you are sure of the person who will read it, your letter should start with to whom it may concern. It should not be more than three paragraphs.

PARAGRAPH ONE. What should go into this paragraph? Unveil yourself and in what capacity you are writing this letter of recommendation. Mention the name of the person you are recommending and how well you know this person.

PARAGRAPH TWO. This is where you do your job honestly though. Mention this person’s distinctive abilities. The feats he has achieved. You must be specific, mention date and where. Has he volunteered to help others before? Mention it and others involve in that volunteers service. Freely express your perception of this person.

PARAGRAPH THREE. This is the summary of this persons attribute. You must use words that convey self-conviction and confidence in the person you are recommending. Here you make you recommendation. Statement like: I am pleased to recommend; I confidently; I enthusiastically recommend and so on can make a letter of recommendation effective.
